Our Spring 2021 Student Recognition Awards brought 19 applicants from across the AEC Industry. Applicants represented high school seniors, the trades, and matriculated undergraduate students in a wide variety of fields. Each applicant will be featured across our social media platforms into the fall, several were gifted with a one year student membership to PWC, and the five talented and inspiring women featured below also received a cash award to supplement their continued studies. Make sure to seek them out at an upcoming PWC event and welcome them all aboard.
Allyse Andrews is pursuing a B.S. in Engineering Technology at Temple University and is an active member of the Temple University Society of Women Engineers and an officer of the National Society of Black Engineers.
Victoria Galie is pursuing an M.S. in Construction Management at Jefferson University and, upon graduation, hopes to join her mother and uncle as a third-generation owner of their family’s drywall company.
Christina Haasz is a 3rd Year Carpenter’s Apprentice and Assistant Superintendent with Target Building Construction. Tina credits her young daughter and her supportive family, including 4(!) carpenter-uncles, with inspiring her to pursue a career in construction.
Kamaiyah Jackson is a 2021 graduate of the Science Leadership Academy at Beeber and will pursue a B.S. in Civil Engineering this fall. Kamaiyah credits her internship with Tiny WPA, where she learned to fabricate home goods, for encouraging her to take on a leadership role from a young age.
Carolina Ramirez is a senior at Thomas Jefferson University, studying Construction Management, with a minor in Real Estate Development. Carolina credits her two young sons and her father, a concrete subcontractor, for inspiring her to pursue her field of choice.
